I Used to love tonight, burger undercooked and ordered medium well, onions raw, burger Luke warm with fully in tact shredded cheese on top of it . And burger completely cold half way through eating briskly Didn't say anything but thought say something here

Service is good. And the crawfish bread ( which is probably prepackaged) is good. But the cooks there need to learn to cook. The copeland's in Alexandria is way better and the food is always cooked. Please screen your food first in Baton Rouge.

Omg this place is delicious. I had the cream sides beniets and they were to die for., mmmm them the main dish was the blackened bayou chicken which was even more to die for with mushroom, mashed potatoes just creamy all with just enough spices to flavor the entire dish gone! Then dessert, the strawberry cheesecake was the final touch, scrumptious! This is the place to eat when you have a nice dinner date out with the hubby! The staff was very nice and helpful. See Denzel, the server, he was more than happy to go over their dish menu with us and courteous too.

I had an early dinner with my fiancé and sat in Corrin's section. She was very sweet and helpful, more than most servers are these days. We live in Lafayette and when we went to the Lafayette location they did not accept my Lagniappe card for my free birthday entree. When I told Corrin about this dis-service she immediately got her manager to see what they could offer me since my birthday offer was expired by a few days. The manager was also very friendly and helpful. This made me feel very welcomed and appreciated as a customer. If you go in to the Baton Rouge Copland's ask for Corrin, she will give you exceptional service.

My experience at Copeland's started off well with an attentive server and a pleasant atmosphere. I had heard good things about this restaurant and was looking forward to dining here, and enjoying a last meal with a friend who is moving out of the state. I ordered a small chophouse salad and a side of fries for my meal. The salad came and was a nice portion! The fried onions looked amazing as well. Unfortunately, this is where things went downhill. The salad was obviously old and had several very brown pieces. The olives had NO flavor (!!) and tasted like boiled mushrooms. The boiled eggs were grey and obviously very old, and the rest of the salad was totally bland. I picked around the disgusting parts and tried to eat a few bites. Then, a very large gnat crawled out of the depths of the salad and landed on the table next to my plate, where it died. I lost my appetite after that and picked at my fries until our server came to check on us. I told him that the salad was not good and that it was obviously old/wilted/brown. I refrained from telling him about the gnat because I didn't want to gross out my friend while she was still eating! He said he would bring the manager over and I told the manager the same things about the salad. He took my plate, asked me if I wanted to order something else (I declined), and said he'd take the salad off the bill. The bill came (my friend graciously offered to pay for my meal), and not only had they not taken the salad off the bill, but they had charged me for the large version instead of the small! I was very upset that my last dinner with my friend was sullied by terrible food and a manager that did not keep his word. I told my friend that I wanted to tell the manager that the salad was still on the bill, but she told me not to worry about it. I feel terrible that my friend paid for my fat gnat salad, and I will certainly not be back to Copeland's. Please keep in mind that I do not like to give 1 star reviews and typically try the restaurant again before judging them so harshly. My experience at this restaurant was so poor that I felt others needed to know! Beware of the fat gnat salad!

Consistently terrible service and mediocre food. Drinks don't get refilled, empty plates aren't pre-bussed, service is slow, and the servers are inexperienced. I do not eat here of my own free will. My mother in law manages to get me in here once or twice a year. It's awful.

Hadn't been to Copelands In quite a while, was excited to go. But it turned out to be very disappointing. Food was mediocre at best. Appetizer platter looked sloppy, just thrown together. Waiter spilled a sauce container all over the floor and chair, it never got cleaned up despite me telling 3 different people about it. My entree came out without the included sides and the shrimp were tiny and scarce. My wife's chicken parm looked like frozen chicken fingers with some sauce on top. Service was poor, finally had to get up and go chase down my own water refill. Manager said he was going to knock something off the bill but then forgot. Didn't matter, by then we just wanted to leave. Won't be going back.

After eating at Copeland's actually IN New Orleans in the past with great satisfaction, we were looking forward to dining at this location - after seeing the place near our hotel. We spent five days in Baton Rouge - and ate seafood each day. By far, the seafood at Copeland's was the worst that we had on this trip!! We were there on a Friday night, and our experience while there let us know why there were not many patrons there on FRIDAY NIGHT, of all nights!! First of all, the service, at best, was mediocre. The temperature in the dining area was freezing cold, and very loud music was playing. The waiter disappeared for great lengths of time - and did not bother to check our meals for accuracy. The fried seafood platter, which almost totally was French fries, was very bad!! The crusts on all of the fried items were flimsy and came off in the plate. The oysters (only two of them!) were not cooked completely. The so-called crab cake was falling apart on top of the plate of food when it was brought to the table. The catfish was fatty and fairly tasteless. To give some credit, the fried crayfish tails were good! BUT - when the waiter finally came back to the table (after we had completed our meals!), I informed him that the French bread and hush puppies (which, for some strange reason, they called corn fritters!) had not been found after I had reached the bottom of the massive pile of fries. He offered to bring some then! When I indicated that I was through with my meal, he said that he would bring them in a carry-out box! Big deal!!! When he came back from the kitchen, he said that the reason that 'corn fritters' had not been on the plate was that 'they' just then were making some. We had arrived at 5:30 - and they were not prepared for the dinner customers?? My wife had grilled chicken on a bed of rice - with no bread of any type offered!! She said that her meal was not very good - but was edible!! For dessert (a very strong point at the New Orleans location), the bread pudding proved to be as mediocre as the service - and WAY overpriced!!! Other restaurants in Baton Rouge typically charge $5-6 for bread pudding, but Copeland's charges a whopping $8!! Their cheesecake lists at $7 unless you want to add any topping - for another $2!! If you are want seafood (or any other food) while in Baton Rouge, there are outstanding restaurants available (Drusilla, Parrain's, Anderson's, etc.) that should be patronized. Yes, we indeed learned why Copeland's didn't have many customers on a Friday night!!! For service, ambiance, and good food - go elsewhere!!!

The bartender didn't know what a single malt scotch was and couldn't even remember what I had. The bar was poorly stocked. She said on several occasions that they had run out because of Mother's day crowd. This is Monday evening. Give me a break, don't even have a lime to put in a drink!!! I won't be back.

Great atmosphere. We have dined at Copeland's several times in recent weeks. Absolutely love the cheese cake, and my lovely husband is in love with their chocolate cake. Great place to go for dessert and coffee to wrap up date night.

Horrible experience. Still waiting for some bread, even crackers before the appetizer. Food was horrible. Will never go here again even if it's the last restraunt on Earth.

They must have had some major issues here last night. Our orders took nearly an hour, and half of the entrees were cold. Some even had substitutions that we didn't ask for. Oh, and I think they've raised prices since this listing was created. I'd definitely call this a $$$ restaurant.

I went to Copelands for the first time, looking to try something new. Their call ahead seating was convenient, and we were seated quickly even though the place was very busy. I order the Bayou Broccoli, crabcakes and shrimp alfredo, and a slice of cheesecake. The appetizer was loaded with bacon and cheese, but still somehow lacked taste. I was disappointed that my pasta came out only lukewarm. The crabcake was surprisingly tasty, but the alfredo sauce was boring. I would not order the dish again. The cheesecake was tasty but fairly standard and pricey. I was, however, shocked that the waiter brought our check after taking our desert order but before bringing the cheesecake out - I've never seen that before ever at any restaurant. Overall, I was not impressed at all, and will not be returning to Copeland's - there's a lot of better restaurants in BR.

Let me begin with this: I am a STICKLER for customer service and satisfaction and Copeland's did not deliver yesterday. The only item I enjoy on the menu is the spinach-artichoke dip. I've given them three chances because my hubby likes it but I will not be going back..... The service was pleasant and friendly but slow and the restaurant was pretty much empty. My chicken Alfredo pasta was dry so I asked for extra Alfredo sauce and it was never brought to the table. The server didn't check on us after bringing the food until it was time to pick up the plates so by then the food was cold and everybody else was finished eating. He was unaware I never got my sauce. He asked if I still wanted the sauce and I said the pasta is cold now. Instead of offering to bring me a new one, he just removed my plate. My husband didn't want me to complain in the restaurant because he gets embarrassed and because we were with a large group of his friends, so I didn't. I still wish I had.......

Pretty decent crawfish fettuccine. Its chain looking on the outside and the name " cheeskake" reminds me of cheesecake factory.....but all in all not bad. I would go back

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I travel on business to the Baton Rouge / New Orleans area quite a bit. My customers have a nostalgic attachment to this place that I just do not understand. It consistently is pretty bad. It is if Chili's and Cheesecake Factory went wrong. This restaurant in particular was dirty, unfriendly, terrible food and the service was sub par. Dinner was so bad, I didn't want to order their cheesecake that they advertise so much. I even went to a fast food chain after dinner because I was so let down. (I had the filet.... yuk!!)

I like Copelands. Most of their dishes are Cajun in the same way that PF Chang's dishes are Chinese....which is to say that they are not. That said, the food is still quite good. My fave is their shrimp ducky....a pasta dish with shrimp and duck meat in a spicy sauce. Their spinach and artichoke dips are quite good too. Steaks have been hit and miss. The biscuits are among the best I've had. Kinda crunchy on the outside with more substance than your usual biscuit while still being fluffy and delish.

An excellent New Orleans style restaurant that doesn't fail to disappoint. This time I went for the gumbo, with a very dark roux, and also the eggplant pirogue on top of a bed of spicy seafood cream sauce laid out over a generous portion of angel hair pasta. The allocation of shrimp in the sauce was likewise generous and certainly won't leave patrons with an empty stomach. I was slightly less impressed with the seafood pasta, which comes with a tomato-based sauce that seemed like something I could make at home. The ambience is pleasant, fairly dark without being depressing, and the servers were easygoing and informative.

I like Copelands a lot and think for the price it provides large portions. Some of their more popular entrees is the onion mum--knock of outbacks onion blossom---and more do the spinach artichoke dip with fried pasta. Last night they had a new appetizer---onion petals---which are onion rings served the size of petals---but the portion is smaller than the mom so a table of 3 can finish this. Last night Copelands also had new selections which shows their continuing effort to change with the times. We ordered old reliables such as the shrimp bisque, chicken parmigiana and eggplant pirogue. The Copelands brand provides great and unique taste which brings me back for me. Also with the entrees are the famous biscuits which might be too flourery for some but just right to me. We did not get dessert last night but experiences in the past have left me more than satisfied

Holy biscuits---- they are so great. Wish I had the recipe to be honest. So fluffy & buttery. I want to try the brunch for sure. Anyways our server was tentative & drinks were good. I got alls fav filet cooked medium rare. Was super good! Also got a baked potato which was decent. The mashed potatoes are the best tho. Over all I was impressed. The only complaint I have is they don't take reservations & they ran out of parking so we had to park at the bank next door.

My girlfriends have always said how good Copelands is. I just didn't realize HOW GOOD this place actually is. Oh my gawd. After a doctors appointment with my mom, we both decided we needed a treat. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and seated. I love the atmosphere of this place. I ordered the Cobb Salad and OMG it was soo delicious. I definitely recommend it and it's only 530 calories, so that was a win win. We decided to order the vanilla and hot Brownie dessert....PEOPLE, it was probably the BEST I have ever had. I will definitely be returning. I am very satisfied with this place. I wish I could give it 100 + stars.

Service was not GREAT the guy seemed distracted and could not explain to us the menu being this was our first time visiting. Plus we heard cursing in the background from our server talking to other workers in the kitchen area.

We have been fans for years but now they have awesome lunch specials! Love the half portion salads and I add steak. Yummy! Our favorite app is the popcorn shrimp. Ask for extra tiger sauce for dipping. It's fabulous :-) It is the only place my husband gets the veal. It's always so good. And it goes without saying ...order the cheesecake! All are good!

Had lunch here on my visit to Baton Rouge and very unpleased. The service was great and the restaurant itself is nice, but the food was terrible. Very upsetting because a lot of people at my hotel recommended this restaurant. I ordered the catfish fish lunch special and there was nothing special about it believe me. To me Copelan's is an upscale Denny's!

  • Grace A.

Traffic was horrible so I decided to pop in here for dinner while waiting for traffic to die down. Told them table for 1 and they kinda urged me to the bar. That's fine, and usually faster service so I agreed. Apparently not. There were 2 bartenders working, but apparently they weren't focused on the bar. It took a while to get my order placed. Food was good, refills were quick, but the impression was set with the slow initial service.

I came here to grab my to go order on a Friday evening. Crab cakes Alfredo with shrimp was cold and did not taste right so my girlfriend barely finished it and I tried some and it was gross. I go to Copeland's once a week in Covington Louisiana and I don't have a problem at that location and it's amazing, but at this location it was horrible let me tell you. I ordered the steak and blue cheese salad. It was watery and the steak did not look right or taste right, and I thought it would make me sick and sure enough, it did. Btw no one wanted to notify me that my food was ready.

A big waist of money.... If you like sweets.., then your good... But the food is overpriced and VERY Bland..!!!! The steaks are not at all worth the money...!! I will not go back.!

    (1)
  • Bradley H.

I understand the few who give 4 and 5 stars simply because Copeland's still has good dishes along with good sides as well as bread and dessert.......Now if you live a life that's nothing but good clean living and the stars always align for you, then good for you, unfortunately I cannot say the same, which is why the aforementioned foods being good simultaneously is something I won't leave to chance any more....My last trip consisted of me going and checking out the new happy hour menu.....They had relatively young waitresses with time serving at copelands.....Which basically means they can get away with not paying attention to drink refills ect......It also means they have more of a right to bitch about their job closing, opening, working...ect. The other neat thing they quickly learn is that the young manager close to our age can be easily manipulated since we're veterans.... Now I give you my observation because it is directly correlated to inconsistent dishes, poor service, less than kept appearance, among others.......They really need to evaluate where they're headed as a franchise.....I believe if they kept their signature dishes and tweaked menu, along with renovating restaurants, and change philosophy as well as upper management, they would climb the charts again!....not alot to ask, huh? lol

I dined at Copeland's restaurant while visiting Baton Rouge for work. The food was pretty good. I had the Shrimp Orleans, which was good, but not great. Maybe I'm spoiled because I have a local restaurant at home who's chef reigns from New Orleans...and blows this Shrimp Orleans out of the water. I wish I would have tried the deserts because they looked amazing, but I had to pass. The service was fair. The server clearly had no idea about wine. However, she was super sweet and attentive. I'd try other restaurants before dining at this restaurant again, but overall, I'd go back.

Went here for Sunday brunch Service - 1 Star - its a buffet and it wasn't even crowded. All you have to do is refill drinks and remove plates. Inexplicably they managed to remove plates in a timely manner without noticing empty water glasses. Loved watching wait staff with nothing to do walk by and wipe off the same table that had never been sat at. The waiter with ear buds cranking the loud music was a first, lol. Really Copeland?! Food - 3 Stars. - buffet quality was good for a buffet. I would have liked to have seen more breakfast items but that's just personal preference. The catfish with Cajun garter sauce was great. Loved the Creole corn. Carving station with prime rib was great as well. And lastly, they had a great selection of deserts. Work on the service Copelands...

  • David S.

I guess I am just not a big fan of restaurants with over a billion items on their menu. It is just hard for me to believe how fresh everything can be when the kitchen has to prep so many items. My stuffed catfish was very bland and the red beans and rice had no flavor or spice at all. I felt bad having to ask for the hot sauce to actually give my food some flavor. The only reason I gave it three stars was because of the service and the crawfish bread. I am sad to say that I will not be back here because there are plenty of other places that I would rather discover in BR during my time here.

I ate here once just to try it out. I ate at the bar; the service turned out well. As for the meal, I had the eggplant pirouge; I like a good eggplant dish, but eggplant isn't a forgiving ingredient. It turned out decently, but I didn't think the pasta underneath made much sense. Also, the sauce was watery. After the eggplant cooled enough to eat it, I tasted it and it was pretty good. I could see myself coming back.

Recently I was in the mood for some southern cookin' and found myself at Copeland's. Their shrimp étouffée was pretty good, although I think I prefer it with a redder sauce over the brown roux-based sauce they use. I had also asked for crawfish instead of shrimp, but (I'll probably get thrown out of Louisiana for saying this) they don't taste that different anyway. The panéed eggland was a little too battered and smothered for my taste. On a positive note, the spices used in both dishes were very nice. Overall I give them a 3 for the food; I can't comment on the service except to say that the bartender who took my take-out order was a-OK.

Best biscuits ever. If you're the type who thinks Popeye's biscuits are to-die-for, then these biscuits will knock you over. The blackened catfish was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I had red beans & rice and mac & cheese as my sides. The waiter suggested putting tabasco sauce on the red beans & rice and boy was he right. These 2 were meant to be together.

As we pulled up to Copeland's the parking lot was full. We thought it was going to be a long wait. Copeland's has plenty of tables and can accommodate large parties. There was only (3) of us and the wait was less then 10 minutes. Our waitress was very knowledgable of the menu since it was our first time visit to the south. We started off with Crawfish Bread on fresh brioche bread . Topped with spinach, artichoke, sauteed crawfish, alfredo sauce, monterrey jack cheese. The second appetizer was the fried Bayou Broccoli balls with bacon and cheese. Also include was the tasty "TIGER SAUCE" for dipping. The main course was a Breaded Chicken Alfredo served with fettuccine. We also ordered the Eggplant Pirogue cajun style smothered in au gratin sauce, shrimp and crab claws on a bed of angel hair pasta. Both dishes were prepared to perfection leaving no left overs. How we managed to scarf down the strawberry cheesecake dessert afterwards is beyond me.

After a week long craving for cheesecake, I finally came here with high expectations. I thought this place was similar to the Cheesecake Factory that I've seen so many back in California. What was different was the atmosphere and the lack of a variety of cheesecake flavors. This place had more of a romantic feel to it, definitely a place for a couples to be on their second/third date. I ordered the Dulce de leche cheesecake after they apologized for not having bananas for a Bananas Foster Cheesecake. Really? You don't have any bananas? I mean..bananas aren't that expensive! Maybe I'm just being a b*tch about it but damn, I was seriously sad. So I chose a Dulce de Leche Cheesecake and the sauce was VERY sweet! The cheesecake itself was amazing and I have to say it did suffice my cravings. I also ordered an appetizer of the Artichoke and Spinach dip with fried bowtie pasta. Fried bowtie pasta!!! Crazy! And it came in a big portion! My first time ever having fried pasta. Then again, I shouldn't be amazed because it seems that Louisiana fries everything! It was surprisingly good but I could only eat a few since the flavor of the batter was heavy. If you plan to come here, you have to order the Artichoke and Spinach dip!

Very good food, and prompt friendly service. On the pricey side, but worth if it you've got the money to blow. I recommend their spinach dip with fried bowtie pasta appetizer, it's mind-blowing. As for entrees they have fantastic chicken dishes, and their steaks are reasonably priced and quite delicious.

I had a business trip in Baton Rouge and hadn't really gone out to eat that much while I was there, so my coworkers recommended Copeland's and a few other "nicer" places to eat, and between Copeland's proximity to the place I was staying and the massive thunderstorm the area was having, Copeland's won. The interior was nice enough - not overly snooty/snotty but not a place you wanted to go in a t-shirt. Since I was alone, I was asked if I minded sitting at the bar, which was fine. The bartender was very friendly and did his best waiter impression, telling me about the restaurant and going over any questions I might have had about the menu. He explained that since everything is fresh made to order (well yeah - I didn't notice a drive-thru) the menu was relatively "open" - if you wanted something made differently or had specific requests, just ask. While tempted to ask for lobster stuffed with tacos, I stuck with the menu. What struck me as odd at first was the selection of "tasting plates" on the menu along with appetizers. I assumed "same concept", but their appetizers were more of your stereotypical appetizers (chicken wings, artichoke dip) where the tasting plates were just smaller portions of stuff that you'd get as a main course. They had shrimp etouffee (which the menu suggested I try with crawfish), so I ordered it with crawfish because who argues with a menu? The etouffee was delicious and I probably could have ate that as a whole meal. For my main course, I ordered the crab stuffed catfish bordelaise. I'm normally not a fan of catfish, but this was excellent. It's easy to drown food when it's "topped with garlic butter", but this had the right amount without taking away from the taste of the fish. The stuffing wasn't heavy and had a good flavor. It came with two sides, so I ordered corn macque choux (trying to stay in theme) and creamed spinach. I was told there wasn't any more creamed spinach but that the chef would sautee some fresh spinach with oil and garlic, which sounded better to me anyway. The macque choux was flavorful but having had a long-standing hatred of creamed corn (not that macque choux is "creamed corn"), I still couldn't completely enjoy it. I can see others enjoying it though - again, just a mental thing. Blame my childhood. The sauteed spinach was delicious, but it is what it is - not like you're going to run into a "secret recipe" for sauteed spinach or anything. I enjoyed the food so much (and Abita's Andygator on tap) that I ordered Bananas Foster, which sadly did not come out on fire. Then again, I was at the bar, so that could have been disastrous.

I have been here a 1000000000 times. Prom... homecoming dance... 1st dates... sigh. The food is sooooo good. If you go I HIGHLY recommend the spinach and artichoke dip. It's me and hubby's favorite. The spinach and artichoke dip is handmade by the head chef and the "chips" are actually little breaded bowtie pastas...so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I've attempted to remake this recipe a million times and have failed miserably. If you are from Louisiana you will say that the menu is a little on the pricey side, so be prepared. If you are from a bigger city...the prices won't be any surprise. The atmosphere is lovely as well, great decor, large and spacious booths, black and white attired waitresses. But don't be ashamed to come wearing jeans and a t-shirt. The bar includes a laid back atmosphere and with the same good Louisiana food and drinks.

I'm really shocked to be writing a bad review of this restaurant, because I've eaten at Copeland's before in other cities and always enjoyed it, but this was one of the worst meals I've had this year. I went to dinner by myself on a Tuesday in mid-May. As is typical in southern restaurants, the air conditioning was blasting when I walked in and I knew I'd be freezing and miserable if I ate inside, so I asked about outdoor seating. The hostess said I could go back out the front door and eat on the patio. The patio was pretty yuck compared to the interior, which is upscale and nice. There were 5 wrought-iron tables with 2-3 chairs each, no decorations and no lighting other than a strong of christmas type lights around the fence. It was still daylight when I arrived, so the lack of lighting wasn't a big deal but there was definitely no ambiance. The patio is at the front of the restaurant and faces the main, busy road the restaurant is on, as well as the Walgreen's and under construction building across the street. Traffic made it pretty noisy, but it was a gorgeous spring night so I'm glad I sat outside! There was free wifi, which was great since I usually bring my iPad along and read or surf while waiting for my food. The waiter came and asked if I was ready to order immediately after handing me the menu. I ordered sweet tea (mandatory in the south, as far as I'm concerned) and said I'd need a few minutes. When he returned, I ordered the classic 8 ounce filet steak ($26.99), medium rare with a loaded baked potato for the side. OK, so I probably shouldn't have ordered steak at a restaurant famous for its seafood, but that's what I was in the mood for and I figured Copeland's is a nice enough restaurant that they can handle charring some dead cow. 24 minutes after the waiter had left, he came back with my dinner. I think that's a bit on the long side for a steak and potato, especially since he didn't come back in that time to refill my (empty) tea or see if I needed anything. The presentation was pretty poor. The steak was served alone on a hot plate, with the butter sizzling, and the baked potato was on a separate plate with a biscuit on top of it. The steak was clearly way too hot to eat based on the butter popping on the hot plate, so I started with the biscuit. These seem to be like Red Lobster's cheddar bay biscuits but RL does them much better. This was a little dry. The loaded baked potato's cheese had probably been sitting under a heat lamp based on the texture. I tried the steak after a minute or two and burned my tongue on it, so went back to the potato. When the steak cooled enough to eat, I was very disappointed in the taste. It was very obviously a great cut of meat- it could practically be cut with a fork and that was DESPITE the fact that it was cooked to at least medium well, not the medium rare that I had ordered. It was grey with a very slight pink tinge in the center, and I like my steak cool red in the middle. It was also extremely, almost inedibly, salty. I was really, really glad I'd taken my blood pressure medicines earlier- that's how salty it was. If the waiter had returned in the first 10 minutes or so of my having cut into and tried the steak, I probably would have sent it back even though I almost never complain about food in a restaurant, but since he didn't and since I was hungry, I went ahead and ate it. Really a shame that it was so salty because even being over-cooked, it was very tender. My sweet tea glass sat empty twice for 5-10 minutes. By the time I was done eating, it was very dark on the patio- if I hadn't had my iPad lighting the place up, I wouldn't have been able to see my bill. For dessert, I ordered the tall carrot cake to go, and the portion size is HUGE, which I guess it should be for $7.99. :) You could easily feed 4 people with this dessert and still have some left over, I think. It was the best part of the meal, for sure. I fear that with the addition of their cheescake bistro, Copeland's may have become like the Cheesecake Factory, where people go tor the desserts and the actual entrees are crap, but again, maybe it was my mistake in ordering cow at a place famous for fish. I'll eat at a Copeland's again, I'm sure, but probably not anytime soon and probably not this particular Copeland's.

Copeland's is a staple in Louisiana. My absolute favorite is the crab cakes and shrimp alfredo. No filler in the crab cakes, you get all that juicy, lucious, fantastic, lump crab meat in your mouth! The alfredo sauce is heavenly and creamy. Service is alway fantastic as it is at all of the Al Copeland's establishments! Let me back it up to the appetizer of the century!...Artichoke and spinach dip with bow tie pasta! I don't go here to eat healthy but there are plenty of healthy options and I hear they are just as fantastic. Rest In Peace Al Copeland!

Again, the typical Copeland's food chain but it's good. I'm not a pasta fan but the Crabcake and Shrimp Alfredo is good. NOTE: if you really hungry that meal will not be enough.

I have been to Copeland's many times before and have always enjoyed my meal. I usually order the shrimp alfredo and crab cakes which is excellent. This time I tried the new overstuffed roast beef poboy. While the flavor of the poboy was good, it was luke warm and barely stuffed. The fries were also luke warm and had a bunch of greasy burnt bits mixed in. Needless to say I was very dissappointed. Roast beef poboys are a favorite of mine and this one wasn't up to NOLA poboy standards.

I am a fan of this place NOW. It wasn't always my favorite, but this trip I had a nice time and the food was SO GOOD! The BBQ shrimp and the crab cakes were excellent. However, the banana's foster cheese cake can't be beat (yum, yum, yum)! This has been an every year spot and now it will hold it's place (not just because of the dessert, but the food as well). Good food and the atmosphere is pretty nice. I always order the crab cakes and shrimp alfredo, and the jambalaya pasta...

I'm on the road again, and spent the better part of today traveling from OAK to MSY, and onwards to Baton Rouge. And if I'm lucky, my RSVP will be accepted for Thursday's Elite Event in New Orleans. If not, I'll dress in Purple and and hang out around the LSU campus. Actually, I already can't wait to get home, as it's the Holiday season, and I rather be with Gayle than go on yet another business trip. However, the trip is important and I'm sure time will fly by as I continue to save lives and stamp out disease. Copeland's is a regional chain that generally specializes in "New Orleans" cuisine and with a nice cheesecake selection thrown in. Just think of this place as a Cajun P.F Chang's meets Cheesecake factory. Of course there's more authentic local dining out there, but I've always liked Copeland's for that extra touch of class, friendly and comfortable ambiance, and good food. I wandered in at around 5:30 PM and hungry after a Cheeseboard Scone for breakfast and Southwest peanuts in between. I grabbed a nice seat at the bar and like everyone else in Southern Louisiana, I intently watched the Saints decisively beat the St. Louis Rams. The bartender took my order quickly and made sure that my beer glass wasn't lonely (but still safe to drive). The roast beef poorboy however was disappointing and nowhere close to what I had previously experienced during my previous Copeland's dining experiences. The meat was smothered in a bland sauce, that not only covered up the taste, but made is seem like it came out of an MRE packet. It also made the bread soggy and pretty much killed the crunch. That's too bad as the fries were hot and crisp and the tomatoes and pickles were fresh and tasty. Of course I could have chosen better off Copeland's extensive menu and next time I will.

Spent some time on business in the area and fell in love with Copeland's. Each time I visited I had to have a meal their. Locals say it's not very authentic, but as an out of towner, I had no complaints on the food. I probably tried everything on the menu, and love everything. Some good 'ol Cajun cooking. As for their cheesecakes, amazing. I love cheesecake, and these are some of the best I've had. \ The service is great as well, friendly staff, and overall an A in my book. I can't wait to go down South again so I can eat at Copeland's.

Just moved to Baton Rouge and have been trying to find good places to eat that didn't break the bank, we found this at Copelands! The menu had a lot of 'cajun' style dishes that we were looking for at a price and more causal atmosphere than we have found at other places like Jubans or Mansuers on the Blvd. Dishes were tasty and large. I was told to try the signature Copelands cocktail from a friend (Can't remember the name of it) but that thing was huge! I'm not sure 3 sorority sisters on an all night bender could finish that thing. I did my best but it was mostly gallons of fruit juice and I think I had diabetes by the time I drank half of it. Next time I will opt for a smaller drink or a beer. Overall great service, great food, great prices. Will be going back!
